Finances and Scholarships

Enrollment fees, tuition fees, and exam fees for the MSc Precision Engineering program are based on the official regulations of the University of Bern.

The following costs are expected for the 2026/2027 academic year:

Registration fee: CHF 100, late registration fee: additional CHF 100

Tuition fees: from fall semester 2026

Examination fee: CHF 300 (payable upon completion)

Part-Time Work

International non-Swiss students are allowed to work 15 hours per week during the semester and more during the semester break. However, non-EU/EFTA students are only allowed to take up employment after a waiting period of 6 months following their arrival.

Scholarships

The University of Bern and Switzerland offer only a few scholarship opportunities; many of our international students receive grants from their home countries.

Life is not always predictable. Students who suddenly find themselves in financial difficulty through no fault of their own have the option of applying for financial assistance from the Social Fund Foundation
