Research

The School of Biomedical and Precision Engineering oversees a broad portfolio of research groups in the field of precision engineering and optical engineering. On the University's behalf, this includes the full professorship with international research in Precision Engineering and Translational Medicine and collaboration with research at the Institute of Applied Physics in Photonics and in Earth and Environmental Sciences within the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research (OCCR), as well as the center for Space Research & Planetary Sciences.

This portfolio is rounded off with the research groups in Optical Engineering at the Institut Applied Laser, Photonics and Surface Technologies, and the Institute for Human Centered Engineering with Automation and Robotics at the Bern University of Applied Sciences.
