Laser Cutting and Engraving

Trotec Laser

The speedy 100 works with the principal of cutting and engraving of sheet materials with a CO2 laser, resulting in high accuracy (±5 µm), high speed 2.8 m/s and very high accelerations 40 m/s² processes.

Our trotec speedy 100 laser cutter is used to produce prototypes which can be designed in 2.5 dimensions. The parts are manufactured by the speedy 100 out of 2D sheet materials and then assembled in 3 dimensional structures.

An example of a 2.5 dimensional part produced with the trotec speedy 100 is the substrate holder in the figure below. It was used for holding thin-film coated implants for an accelerated ageing platform for the characterization of the high performance multilayer coatings produced with atomic layer deposition and physical vapor deposition processes.
