Master Thesis

The master's thesis is the final and most significant part of the Master of Science in Precision Engineering. It represents an in-depth, independent research project that typically extends over six months (30 ECTS), with the possibility of extension up to nine months. Each thesis culminates in a written scientific report and an oral presentation.

Students can choose from a range of tailored thesis proposals offered by our own lecturers. In addition, there are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly with the Climate and Environmental Physics and Space research at the University of Bern.

Furthermore, those students with a strong academic background and a dedicated work ethic may also conduct their master’s thesis at other Swiss universities or with industry partners. Through our extensive network, students gain access to renowned research institutions and universities worldwide, enabling them to pursue ambitious and impactful research projects.

A list of open master’s thesis proposals can be found below, along with a selection of master’s theses topics offered in collaboration with other University of Bern institutes.
